Why isn’t Tidal Waves being held at Wet N Wild anymore? 2018-02-18T22:09:58+00:00

Wet ‘n Wild was bought out by Universal and decided to close it down and build a new park, Volcano Bay.

Why can’t you buy out another water park? 2018-02-18T22:11:28+00:00

We are looking at several options and want to find make sure we find the right fit. To put things in perspective, the cost to open Wet ‘n Wild was as follows:
$45,000 just to rent out the park
$20,000 for after-hours
$12,000 for staff, lifeguards
$ 5,000 Security
$8,000 for shuttle bus transportation.

Other factors include DJ Salaries, plane tickets, hotels, liability insurance & parking. We are still negotiating with other parks to see if we can come up with a cost effective solution.

Why does it cost so much for a Tidal Wave Party ticket? 2018-02-18T22:13:36+00:00

Based on your feedback, we try to have a well-rounded weekend with something for everyone. A drag show, musical entertainment, Bingo, or Disney Dining may not be your cup of tea, so we don’t charge you for it. This is why there are multiple ticket options available. For those who want entertainment, we have a different tier ticket. You may purchase the bundled options or purchase ala carte, adding the entertainment you would like.
Costs of doing business include Entertainment, Attorney’s, travel, hotel, salaries, sound & lighting for shows/ DJs, extra bartenders, extra hotel staff, and security to name a few .

Why does it cost so much to see a drag show? 2018-02-18T22:14:14+00:00

As with last year, we have hand-picked a talent line up that goes beyond your typical bar Drag Show. Each performer has appeared not only nationally but all over the world. The Hard Hat Cabaret showcases each of these performers’ own unique talents with comedic routines, both live vocals and some lip-synchs. We have also added Nakia from The Voice to round out this show.

Why are the Holiday Inn rates higher during Tidal Wave Weekend? 2018-02-18T22:16:12+00:00

We asked the Holiday Inn this very same question, below is the Answer from Christine (Director of Sales for Holiday Inn – Disney Springs)

Hi Danny,

You are correct that the rates the weekend prior to Tidal Wave are lower, there are several factors that play into this:

Demand – The Tidal Wave event falls over a weekend with high demand in the area which increases the rates, this is why throughout the year you will see different pricing from day to day and week to week

Flow Through – Pre and Post days of Tidal Wave are difficult days for the hotel to sell rooms since the hotel is not able to offer stays that overlap with the Tidal Wave event

Area Hotels – In looking at the other hotels in the area with similar events we are offering competitive rates. In addition we do not inforce policies such as mandatory valet and no outside food or drink in the pool area during the events.

Packages – We do not offer packages during special events such as Tidal Wave, our parking team requires extra staffing and longer hours which prevents us from discounting parking, however we do waive the Resort Fee of $12 for all guests staying under the Tidal Wave block

Staffing/Additional Cost – An event such as Tidal Wave does require additional staffing for all departments, more than any other event throughout the year. Things that we offer such as the poolside bar and grill concessions are at no additional cost to Tidal Wave and the hotel breaks even on these.

Is there an age limit to attend Tidal Wave Party and it’s events? 2018-02-18T22:17:46+00:00

All Tidal Wave events are age 21+. Please be sure to have your ID at all times.

How can I book a room at one of your hotels? 2018-02-18T22:18:45+00:00

Once you purchase your registration ticket (Gold, Silver or Bronze through Eventbrite), you will be provided with an on-line booking link. PLEASE NOTE that unlike past years, there are NO complimentary passes to the pool/patio area. A minimum purchase of a Bronze Admission is necessary for entrance into the pool/patio area.

What names need to be on my hotel room? 2018-02-18T22:19:47+00:00

Anyone staying in your room, MUST be added to your hotel room

What are my transportation or parking options at the event? 2018-02-18T22:21:37+00:00

An overnight parking charge of $12 for self-parking or $18 for valet will apply to all guests with vehicles. There is a daily parking fee of $5 for any vehicles parked for more than one hour. Hotel transportation can be arranged through Mears transportation, Lyft or Uber.

Why is there a resort or service fee on my confirmation from the hotel? 2018-02-18T22:23:11+00:00

We have negotiated to have this fee to be waived but it will show up on your confirmation
