About Tidal Wave Party

What started out as the exclusive evening-hour theme park party for Bears, Cubs, Chubs and Admirers at Wet ‘n Wild has now become Tidal Wave Party Weekend!  The weekend-long event is now centered around the beautiful Royal Plaza, the official host hotel of the Tidal Wave Party Weekend.  The Royal Plaza, an official Downtown Disney Resort area hotel, is at the heart of the magic as all four Disney World theme parks and Downtown Disney are easily accessed by complimentary shuttles and Downtown Disney restaurants and attractions are also just a short walk away. 

We have secured the entire 394-room hotel exclusively for Tidal Wave Party Weekend guests on Friday and Saturday nights!  This year’s Tidal Wave Party, the cornerstone bear event of the weekend, will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, from 6pm to midnight with complimentary shuttles to and from the Royal Plaza.  The park will be closed to the public during our private party, but any ticket purchased for the Tidal Wave Party will be good for admission to Wet ‘n Wild the entire day.

Meet The Men Behind The Waves

	CO-ORGANIZER DJ DAVID BIEHL For nearly 16 years, David Biehl of Orlando, FL, has been a DJ and remixer of dance, house and chillout music. He's played different pride and bear events around the country, including appearances at the Charlotte Eagle in Charlotte, NC, the Freedom Resort & Spa in Orlando, Bear Bust in Orlando, Wooffest in Fort Lauderdale and was the creator of Eufuria, the original bear party during Disney Gay Days. His most recent project, the Tidal Wave Party at Wet 'n Wild, continues to grow and has become one of the premier events for bears, cubs, chubs and admirers. 	CO-ORGANIZER DJ DANNY G Danny Gallegos of Charlotte, NC, has been a DJ for 34 years, beginning in the discos in the Los Angeles club scene, to his most recent 7-year residency at the Charlotte Eagle. He's played at many different pride and bear events around the country, highlighted by regular appearances at Bear Hunt in Myrtle Beach, SC, Mountain Bear Madness in Roanoke, VA, and Bear Bust in Orlando, FL. His most recent project, the Tidal Wave Party at Wet 'n Wild, continues to to grow and has become one of the premier events for bears, cubs, chubs and admirers. 	DJ CAP'N KIRK DJ Cap 'n Kirk, aka Kirk Hartlage, has been a featured Tidal Wave DJ since its inception three years ago. He also spins at several locations around the Orlando area. Catch him Friday afternoons at the Parliament House's Retro Happy Hour and various special events at Hamburger Mary's, including the monthly Sunday Funday Tea Dance. He's also spun at Revolution Nightclub, Pulse, Southern Nights and Full Moon Saloon. Kirk began DJ'ing while obtaining his journalism degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WS. His articles have appeared in both local and national publications, including Watermark, Orlando Weekly, Instinct, Unzipped and A Bear's Life.
	DJ CUBBY DJ Cubby, aka John Podkulski from Clearwater, FL, became a featured Tidal Wave DJ in 2010. DJ Cubby spins a monthly live radio show, "Lazy Ninja" on I-Tunes radio and has a monthly residency at Cafe Bohemia in downtown St. Pete. DJ Cubby joined the Tidal Wave lineup last year, playing the Bear Soup Kick-Off Party at the Flamingo Resort, as well as the Thursday night meet & greet and a portion of the Sunday pool party. He was also a featured DJ during the 2004 and 2005 Bear Busts in Orlando, FL. You might also recognize him from working the will call table for the last several years. 	DJ & PRODUCER BARRY HUFFINE DJ and Producer Barry Huffine, originally from South Florida, has played & lived in many major cities, including San Francisco, New York, New Jersey and Miami. He's DJ'd for many parties, including Bear Bash, Pig Dance, Lube NYC and was one of the co-creators for the Bear Nation parties. Most recently, in a collaboration with fellow bear producer Mike Mucci, he signed his first major label remix to A&M/Octone Records for the new Kat Graham single, "Put Your Graffiti On Me" Barry will be spinning the Saturday night Shipwrecked party at the Royal Plaza.
	DJ MIKE DJ Mike has been the Tidal Wave lighting specialist since its inception. This year Mike will be stepping behind the turntables to bring you an 80's retro-party on Friday as a warm-up to the Tidal Wave Party later that night.
	DJ MOOSE DJ Moose is an Atlanta-based DJ with over 20 years of club experience. He's traveled to clubs to spin parties in North America and Europe. He has DJ'd at the Atlanta Eagle, Bearapalooza, INULDGE @ The W, and is a regularly featured radio dj on "Trance on the Porch." He is among one of the TOP 24 DJ's selected for the Gay Days 2010/2011 contest. Fun and energetic, his personality radiates through the crowd when he spins. 	DJ B. Magick DJ B. Magick out of Los Angeles, will be bringing his unique sound to Tidal Wave when he spins the Capsized Party immediately following the Tidal Wave Party.  DJ B. Magick has been transporting clubs to a world completely his own with his unique combinations of electro, house, top 40 pop, hip-hop and rock.
	DJ Rob Yow Carolina's own country DJ Rob Yow will be your host for our first-ever Boots 'n Bridles Party at the Royal Plaza on Thursday night.
	Dj Bootpup DJ BootPup got his start in 2004 by DJ’ing for friends’ parties and pool parties. He made his event debut in Aug 2010 at the bear event Bear Boogie in Baltimore, MD. His mixes have also been aired on Tribal Rites Radio Takeover in New Jersey.

	VENDOR FAIR COORDINATOR Jeff King of JRBearz Studios, has been one of our will call table assistants for the past three years and will this year be our Vendor Fair coordinator.
	WEB MASTER Kevin has joined us this year as our web master after winning the Design A Logo contest in 2010. Hailing from Roanoke, Virginia, Kevin is one of the chairmen for a great bear event in July called Mountain Bear Madness hosted by the Virginia Mountain Bears. 	REGISTRATION OFFICER Eric Anderson was the information and registration officer for the Bears of Central Florida for six years and was a key member in the formation and growth of Bear Bust, of one of the bear community's most influential events.
